New 1st grade haircut! So cute! (I cut it for her) scary at first...

Being the best Grammy I can be! My husband and my daughters are myworld including my granddaughter Lexi and now Leah and soon to be Lyra!

Today is September 5th, 2016
Fall, one of my favorite times of year. Everything is changing. School begins again and there's a new feeling in the air. Cool, crisp refreshing. The leaves have begun to change and the acorns are stuffed along the branches waiting to be scoffed up by the squirrels. On my porch you better watch out, a stray acorn or two will come soaring down at a furious rate and bonk you right on the top of your head!  Although, I often wonder if the squirrels have something to do with that. Hmmm...
Change is good, so they say. I usually agree, then when I take the time to really think about it, I find I really hate it!  At least at first. Haha!! Eventually, everybody has to accept it, including myself.
One big change for me is losing my granddaughter to the wonderful world of education, known as 1st. Grade.
She and I have been sharing many wonderful days since she was born, 6 years ago. It's been a beautiful relationship that we have lovingly created. And will, of course continue to develop.
Our big change though, begins tomorrow when I'll be dropping her off 2 mornings a week and picking her up a couple times a month! It has left me feeling lost, lonely, helpless and tearful for many days now.
Change being good and all, I have struggled with how I really feel as opposed to what I know I should feel about this.
My daughter, Megan introduced me to a motivational speaker on YouTube. For a couple days, I was feeling as though my whole attitude was going to "change" for the better and all this would be so easy now, yet I keep tripping up.
Positive thinking, creating confidence, and reprogramming my thoughts are just to name a few of Brendan Bouchard has me believing.
Our family spent the day at the lake yesterday, including Lexi of course and it was wonderful. We had some sweet conversations and extra hugs and kisses.
Now, tomorrow she will have her first day back in school and with all the changes we are all going through, hers should be the most exciting. She will do well because she is smart, she will make lots of friends because she is a good friend, and she will have fun because she knows how to make anything fun! ( including her amazing, resilience and nothing can stop me- attitude)
Lexi girl, I will miss our daytime play times together yet I'm looking forward to hearing all about your new adventures in school!
I love you to the moon and back......

September 28th, 2013. Our 28 years of Marriage!

September is here!

Good afternoon,
Lexi began her first day of preschool today. She was a brave little turtle! I bought her a light pink and green necklace to help her separate from Jen and me and it has a little turtle on it. She wore it and did great!   She has her own cubby too. Jen bought her an adorable backpack with a kitty on it and she loves it.
While at school, she met a boy named Hunter and asked her teacher if he was a hunter.  Hehe! She also got to wash the tables for her job today and was so excited to use the cleaner that Jenny doesn't usually let her use.
They taught her to use scissors, as did I, they sang head and shoulders knees and toes, and made a paper pizza with the grandfriends! (she attends a preschool in a nursing home.)
She will be taking a trip to California with Mum and Dad to visit her Grampa Gary. (Trevor's dad)

I love you Lexi, you make me happy every time we are together!
